Here’s what you need to know about hiring top talent.
Top talent will only hire top talent. Make sure the people who are doing your hiring are all “A” players. Top players will only hire other top players.
Top talent is always in demand. You may be working in a part of the country where the economy is still in flux or in an industry where supply of candidates appears to out pacing demand. Top talent is always in demand and will have choices. This means that you need to be actively courting those who you’d someday like to see on your team.
Money is only one factor. Money is important to top candidates, but it’s not everything. Top talent wants to feel valued. They want to have a sense of purpose. In other words, they want to know that whatever work they will be doing matters. Think about this when putting together your recruiting pitch.
Top talent comes in all shapes, sizes and ages. Once you internalize this you’ll stop looking for the “perfect” candidate that everybody seems to be looking for. You’ll have a wider recruiting pool in which to choose from and will experience the many advantages that are associated with a diverse workforce.
Here’s to your success!
