Cleaning House

clean-deskI just spent the day dumping files that are no longer relevant to my life. You see about a year ago, I decided to move my business in a new direction. It’s taking a while to transition, but I’m just about there. I’m letting go of what’s no longer serving me well. That includes files and background information on work that I’m choosing to no longer do. The process of purging is good for the soul and for business.

When’s the last time you took a good hard look at your business? Are you in a place because you happened to land there and if so, is this really where you want to be? If not, what are you willing to do to move your business forward?

I delayed making changes for a long time because I knew if I changed one thing, I would have to change a whole lot more. It was easier to keep the status quo. However, it certainly wasn’t more profitable to do this. I lost out on some great opportunities because of what I like to call my procrastination.

Change doesn’t come easy for most, but after it’s done, we usually look back and ask ourselves why we didn’t make those changes a long time ago. And once we begin to change one thing, we allow new opportunities to come our way.

I’m looking forward to a spring of new business. How about you?
